A Day That Makes a Difference

Well today was an interesting day at work.  I saw several colleagues get let go.  It's amazing to see the spirit of some of them even when they know they are out of a job just before the Holidays.  I also saw my friend in HR struggle as she tried to manage through the day with all these individuals who have families and lives they are now trying to redefine.  I ask that anyone that reads this to please pray for these individuals...pray for peace, pray for comfort, pray for calmness and pray for a new job to come their way. I also ask that we give these people a boost of "You Can Do It".  With that comment, I think it is appropriate to post a card I gave to a friend just yesterday who also left my company and was flying out to interview for a job.  The girl is a digital stamp from Tiddly Inks called Lilli Claire Tude.  She was fun to color but I have to admit that I wasn't quite ready to do that much hair.  I did my best with my new skills.  Hope everyone has a great day and remembers to show their spunk when things don't go the way we plan.

xx,
Jo

The Greeting Farm and Hair Experiment

No I'm not talking about some new hair coloring experiment.  I've been trying to figure out how to color hair with Copic markers and I must say that I am not doing a good job of it.  But I got some more practice in and decided to try my newly learned (albeit still not good) skills on hair with a stamp from The Greeting Farm.  She's called Blush Bonnie.  She's really cute don't you think?  I have more from The Greeting Farm and can't wait to play with them.

I used the following Copic markers to color her.  E000, E01, Ell and R01 for her face.  For her hair I used, E25, E35, E33 and E31.  Then I used B0000, BV00 and BV04 for her dress, stockings and shoes.

Stamping Bella

Love the Stamping Bella stamps.  My sister and I noticed them from a Copic Tutorial Guide and we've gone a little bonkers buying stamps.  I've stocked up on the Ketto stamps from Stamping Bella, but now I've got my eye on the Uptown Girls.  If you haven't seen them yet, go to Stamping Bella now to see what I'm talking about!  I think you'll agree that they are just adorable.

For now, check out another Birthday Card I made for a friend at work.  She is Violet - Cupcake Princess by Mo Manning.  I used Flowersoft for the trim on her skirt.  Sooooo cute!

Addict...Addict...Addict

Ok..my latest addiction...thanks sis for introducing me... is not about scrapbooking.  But it's definitely a nice place for me to collect web images of cards and other things I see on the internet.  If you haven't seen it yet, go to Pinterest.  I LOVE IT!  My favorite by far is my Card Inspiration bulletin board.  Enter your email address and join.  You won't be able to stop when you start creating electronic bulletin boards.  My latest Stamping Bella stamp (purchased as a gift by my friend Lily - thanks Lily) is pinned on Pinterest as a card.  I've put a picture here for everyone to see.  OMG - how can you go wrong?  Copic Markers, Stamping Bella and Pinterest = LOVE

BTW - look for my sister to be on Pinterest.  She has the BEST pins.

First Time for Everything

Ok - a bit intimidating and yet exciting at the same time.  This is the first post to Yuki's Girls.  My name is Jo and I am one half of Yuki's Girls.  Why Yuki's Girls?...well my mother's name is Yukiko.  I have a sister that lives across the country from me that I miss very much.  I can't think of any better way to share my life with her and my parents than with this blog titled "Yuki's Girls".

My sis and I share a passion for scrapbooking.  We are both avid collectors of paper, stamps and other supplies (otherwise known as OCD hoarders).  You wouldn't think that exists, but we both have way more than we need and yet we are both quite organized with the stuff.  I am hoping we can share the things we do through the world called blogosphere.

One of my newest addictions is Copic markers.  Below is my first creation.  I know, I know..we are a little past Halloween, but it IS one of my first items.  Actually it's my second, the first one I sent to my sister.  This inspiration came from You Tube, but I can't remember where I found it.  I used a Inkadinkadoo Stamp Set.  Did I explain my HUGE addiction to stamps?  I've been collecting them since my daughter was two years old.

Well I hope to post my latest creations.  Look for my love of the Stamping Bella stamps.  Ooh la la
