Draco Takes a Walk

Ah I love the Draco dragon images.  They are part of the Scrappers Delights Thrifty Thursday deals right now.  Don't forget to go and grab these images for $1 right now.

It was fun to color up this boy for my DT project.  He looked like he was going someplace in a hurry, so I had to draw in a sidewalk scene.  I was inspired by the cement in Kit and Clowder's Create and Learn markers class for February.  I added a bracelet to his arm and he looks like he's chugging along in his daily walk.  Hope you love him as much as I do!

And the entire background is from Kit and Clowders free nature scene sent out last month as a sneak peek to the new Nature Technique class.

Don't forget to go to the Scrappers Delights Challenge blog.  Join in on the fun.

And of course, there's always something going on at the Scrappers Delights Facebook page.

Roses Are a Great Way to Show Your Love

Hi Everyone!

It's Scrappers Delights Thrifty Thursday again.

Here is my DT project using Rose Tag.  This isn't a normal image for me to color up.  It's great to be on a design team that pushes you to do things outside your comfort zone.  I decided to enlarge the rose to 4 inches wide and crop the height to 4 inches to make it square.

I then print the image and cut the cardstock just a little over 4 inches.  Take a background stamp and stamp over the flower with a lighter color.  I used gray by Momento ink with a retired background stamp from Stampin' Up called French Script.  Then I colored the image with Copic markers.

To make the card, I layered up white cardstock in different textures.  One of those layers was embossed with a polka dot embossing folder.  The image was put on a black and silver foiled cardstock.

The saying is also from Stampin' Up from a kit called Petite Pairs.  It was also backed with the same paper as the rose and then wrapped with 1/8" white ribbon.

Bethany Unicorn

Who doesn't love unicorns?  Well it's Thrifty Thursday again, and you can get these fabulous unicorns from Scrappers Delights for just $1.  Get them here!

I was lucky enough to be able to color up this beauty.  She's Bethany unicorn.  Make sure you go to see the other beautiful entries by the design team for these cute unicorns.

And don't forget to get over to the Facebook group for more designs and offers!

An animal is something I would have never attempted to color a year ago.  But she's featured in Kit and Clowder's Animal technique class.  She's so easy after watching the video.  If you haven't taken the class yet, I strongly encourage you to do it!  Remember, the class price is in Australian dollars. The exchange rate to the U.S. is VERY good.  Take advantage of it now!

Swoon!!!!! I Am In Love!

I love bibles!  Truth be told, I'm one of those people that have several bibles because I love all the different options and covers and versions.  But recently, I've caught the bible journaling bug.  Writing in my bible isn't necessarily new, but CREATING in my bible has me giddy with excitement.  I am totally excited about journaling and leaving a legacy for my daughter down the road (even though she doesn't realize it).

There's a new bible out called Inspire and it has over 400 illustrations already done in it.  It's like buying an adult coloring book.......but it's the bible!!!!!  I am so excited!  Did I tell you that already?  What truly has me excited, other than the crafting part of it, is that this is one thing my daughter is excited to do.  It's something we are doing together.  I am truly grateful for that.  It is also bringing us closer to God with the study of his words!

Here is a page I just did.  The illustration was already part of my bible.  I just colored it and added some paint to the edge.  Then I fixed a tab at the top with washi tape.

If you're interested in knowing more about it, there's a fabulous website called www.illustratedfaith.com.  Go there and investigate and the head over to Pinterest and search for bible journaling.  You will truly be "Inspired" by all the journaling and pages done by a lot of truly talented people.

Surrounded by Love

I am running a little late, but this is a Valentine Card I made for my daugher.  I love this sweet image from Art By Miran called Be My Valentine.

Kit and Clowder released a free Backgrounds III tutorial with the February Create and Learn classes, so the background is done using one of the techniques in this tutorial.  It seems like I am always struggling when it comes to implementing backgrounds, but this was so easy and it looks so beautiful!  Thank you Alyce Keegan!  I am constantly learning something new from you!

A Thank You to a Generous Heart

The months of January and December have been very difficult regarding pet health.  I've had two dogs that have required ACL repair.  One dog needed a repair in January and another one started limping right after her surgery.  When I took him in for x-rays, they found that both of his back legs had ACL tears that needed repair.

The exhaustion with caring for them has been difficult enough.  But emotional toll of losing my job and all the vet bills have taken its toll on me.  A beautiful, anonymous friend from Facebook called in a huge donation to help alleviate some of the cost.  I can tell you that I rarely break down with circumstances but it was such a surprise that someone would call my vet's office and pay for part of the surgery.  I lost my composure when I went to pay and they informed me that someone paid for part of the surgery on my second dog.  I am so blessed, and God has shown me his presence by this gesture from his angel.

This is the thank you card I have made.  I will ask the office to forward it to this generous individual who prayed and felt compelled to help.
